Can you make an Ignite image from a rx3600 and restore that image to a BL860c? I am new to HP-UX and Ignite and some folks say this is possible.

Shalom,

Yes.

There are hardware differences, it can get annoying at times, but it is quite possible. I've spent the better part of the past six weeks doing things like this.

So its very possible.

The ignite interface is a little strange, and there are some tricks that might if not done right cause you a few restores that blow up at the last second after significant work.

But Itanium to Itanium is possible. You could also probably migrate an Ignite image from blade to a superdome running vpar as well.
