When i am creating ignite backup in HP-UX 11.11 iam getting below error pls any one help me.

System Error, /opt/ignite/bin/make_medialif failed creating boot LIF

Hi,
Looks your Ignite s/w was not installed properly.

I would suggest you to swremove and download then new ver. and swinstall it again.

iam downloading the new patch

and i have one more problem iam compresed one file through tar command but it is not tar below iam mentioned the command and error

Command
tar -cvf /test/test/index_engineering01.dbf.tar index_engineering01.dbf

error

tar: Size of index_engineering01.dbf >= 8GB. Not dumped.

I downloaded the ignite depot

Now iam going to installing the ignite supose if iam removing or installing the new verion it will ask reboot? because i cannot reboot now becauset this is a production server

Normally there is no reboot needed. If this would be required by a patch, the system will tell you.

ignite/ux don't need a reboot for installation.
