Author Subject: Switch to next, full paper tray      Add to my favorites

I have a LaserJet 9050. How can I enable uninterrupted printing when Tray 3 runs out of paper, but Tray 2 has plenty of paper?

Right now, a message on the printer's LCD appears, requesting the press of a button on the printer to enable coninued printing from the next tray (Tray 2).

I would like the printer to automatically switch to Tray 2 when Tray 3 runs out of paper in the middle of a print job.

Bill,

Make sure the trays are set to the correct paper size, and that the printer driver settings match the tray settings.

On the printer System Setup Menu, what is Tray Behavior set to?

Last, in the software you are printing from, under Printing Preferences, make sure the Paper Size is set correctly and that Paper Source is set to Default or Automatically Select.
