Hello, I've noticed a lot of requests for the HP NetServer Navigator CD and since HP no longer provides this CD (but IMO it still has some usefulness, especially with LC models) and since the customized OS this CD uses is no longer supported by Microsoft nor sold by Microsoft anymore I see no problem with putting it up for download...however if others here feel otherwise feel free to do whatever you feel is right with this thread...just trying to help the fellow HP NetServer community :). This is a ISO for the HP NetServer Navigator CD, this version of the Navigator CD that I have is intended for use with the models LC, LH, and LS. The ISO has been compressed and as such the download size is only 75.2MB, however when the ISO is extracted you will need around 216MB for the ISO. Simply download the zip from the link below, extract the ISO and use your favorite CD burning program to burn the ISO to CD, the CD should then be bootable. Enjoy! :-)

Looks like that link's dead now :-(...reuploaded the iso, it can be downloaded here:
http://rapidshare.de/files/17785859/hp_netserver_navigator_cd.iso.zip.html
please, if you have the resources availible, please mirror this ISO and post a download link in this thread as it'd be greatly appreciated :-) ...also, if this new link becomes dead, feel free to let me know of this by emailing me at hexstar[at]gmail[dot]com and I'll reupload the iso and post the new link in this thread for you guys :-) |

This was a great help to me. I moved across the country and have misplaced the original documentation to an LH4 I bought new at the old Egghead site and now upgrading with parts on ebay.I was finding it difficult to access information on the HP site. Many Thanks! Not too many people out there thinking of others. PAY IT FOWARD mentality no your behalf! |

John,
Many thanks for this. This may help quite a number of folks. When I sold some of my really old Netserver CDs on ebay I can't tell you the number of people from Europe and Asia who emailed me during and after the auctions for where they could get similar or other Netserver CDs, so there's definitely a demand for them in other parts of the world.
Best, Bryan |

I'm sorry, I didn't clarify. I meant the 4.05 version that is/was posted at uploadpower.com. After I input the verify code and wait the 15 seconds and hit the download button, it returns that the file is no longer available for download. |

I think I know what happened. It seems that Upload Power has changed their usage restrictions on free accounts. The limit is now 250MB but the download is some 400. Maybe we can get one chopped up into 2 parts.

Hi Sean
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th parts of the Uploadpower hosted Navigator CD are proving difficult to download. Would you mind checking these for me? Parts 2 and 4 return a 404 error, part 3 looks to be expired. Thanks in anticipation and respect to yourself and JM for re-releasing these gems. |

Hi Tormod,
Sorry you're having trouble with the site. I have successfully downloaded parts 2, 3 & 4 since your post but I think there's something up with their site. Once I have a download running, I can no longer connect to uploadpower.com. Once the download is complete, I can reconnect. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

I'm using the Navigator image on a LC3 Netserver. Running cdstart.bat from the netserver OS (MS Server 2003), I get a message of incompatibility. I'm not sure if that's the intent of cdstart.bat My drive name is a matshita CR-588 and I tried to start mscdex manually, no luck. I haven't taken the time to put another drive and try booting from it, would that work ?
Thanks a whole bunch E-M |

Hi Group,
I;ve just got a LH3000 which I intend to use Fedora on so I'm new to this stuff. I downloaded the file from CSINOV (the other links no longer work)and burned the disk but it won't boot, tells me the Adaptec ASPI device driver is not available. Does this CD rely on OS resources on the server or will it boot with no OS installed? If the latter does any one have on that will boot on my machine. I host a public ftp server and would be happy to publish the file for others to download (get a little give alot). |

I see you are still uploading. I've taken the restriction of the servers speed so if you would care to log off then on again you will find the process much quicker (we choke the speed to discourage mass scrapping of the archive). Cheers. BTW the first version has been burned to CD and works just fine. |

Hi Everyone,
Despite my request to clients to use a FTP client programme and to supply a 'real' e-mail address many are ignoring it. You are wasting giga bytes of my bandwidth (and its not cheap in NZ). If this situation continues I will have no choice but to take the file of the server. |

Sorry folks but the file is off the server as of now. The last straw was some clown making multiple downloads. In fairness to the people on this forum it may not be any of you, just some casual passerby so to speak. I intend to set up a user account to control access to the file and if you need it you will have to e-mail me for the account details. I do not offer lessons on how to use your ftp client or indeed the ftp protocol, there are plenty of resources on the 'net already. I will post again when the account is set up. |

NotYetAGuru, Well, I know I should but what is happening is I put 2 harddrives out of another net server (different type) into this server and as it starts loading the os it restarts. I had this happen before way back and I think once I got the navigator software I was able to fix that but I could be remembering wrong. Will keep plugging and researching. thanks. Have a mail server about to crash and burn from overload due to spam and spam blocker and too many clients using it to let that happen so trying to get the lp1000 up.... k |

OK as promised I've set up an account. To gain access you will need to use an FTP client programm site is ftp://barfone.serveftp.net user is hpnetdvd and password is navigator . Number of logons is limited so if you cant get in please try again later. If anyone tries to use an autologin script they will be banned. Why? becuase they just keep knocking at the server, and get refused, this uses up resources and quickly fills up the log files with access refused messages. Hope this helps you guys out. |

Due to an attempt to hack into my system by a user of these forums via the hpnetdvd user on the server this service is suspended.
If you need to access the files send an e-mail to netserver@simpleserverco.com if I'm satisfied your request is bonafide I'll send you log in detials.

No, its bootable. Your poor old server's cd rom drive is having trouble reading your new cd burnt in your new burner. Try booting the cd in a new drive. It will probably boot to dos with an error. If so, temporarily replace your drive in the server, or try burning a different brand cd in the oldest working cd burner you have access to (preferably not a dvd burner) It worked for me. Also check the checksum of your image against the txt file from the download location, but I doubt that is the problem |

Hello,
the CD 04.05 created form the image on the same Hardware works fine. It says Server not supported. The CD 04.60 is not bootable here in any system.
I need only to run the Resettool for the Managment Card, but for this i need a running "Navigator OS".
Or does anyone have a tip. |

Bootable Netserver Navigator M.04.60 CD http://navigator.ish.net.au
Thanks to Tronki, the new and hopefully bootable M.04.60 is now downloadable. If you are the first to try it, please let me know if it's ok so I can delete the old one. I don't have a relevant server. |
