Is anyone running QTP on a virtual VMware server? I have QTP running on a virtual system with 3 GHz cpu allocated to it. When running the QTP will max out my cpu. I see no way this software could be maxing out this much cpu. Has anyone seen this problem? Thanks for any help you can give.

You need to modify the memory allocation for the vmware image. Sometimes you need to increase memory, sometimes decrease it in case it steals to much resources from the host operating system. |

I have a VMware which has 3GB of memory and 2 processors attached to it. I have tested my scripts on physical machine with same configuration and script executes fine and is completed in 5 hours. Now the problem I am facing with doing the execution with VMware is, it takes a lot of time to perform the operation, qtp hangs at times and script keeps on waiting for the object. This kind of problems are not faced while executing the script with Physical machine. Can anyone help me in this regard. Thanks |

you need to remote into the VM and keep a open window of the VM. For some reason this works and is the known work around. |
