I currently use the 1218xi printer, running version 3.2.3. I see at the HP site there is an HP update for all, or most, of the Photosmart printers.

Release date: 01-Oct-2001 Version: 3.3.138

Is this something I should download and apply?
I've had no problems with my printer. What does this upgrade do, or fix?

Hi Michael,

You don't mention what operating system you're using, but for the most part, the newer driver adds support for the newer printers (1300 series, etc.) and Windows XP support. My advice to you would be not to load the driver if all is working well for you; it wouldn't hurt to load it, but it's not necessary. You know the old saying... if it isn't broke... <G>

Thanks for the response. I'm using Win98SE. I downloaded and saved it to CD in case I'd need it in the future. I won't install it then...everything works great and sure don't want to take a chance in anything changing.
