Author Subject: Windows 7 Drivers needed for Sound Card      Add to my favorites
Luke Schut
Nov 4, 2009 05:21:18 GMT

I recently upgraded my Pavilion PC to Windows 7 from Windows Vista, and now my sound card has ceased to function properly. The card is a Sound Blaster Audigy X-Fi 24-Bit Xtreme Fidelity card. I've already contacted Creative Labs, and they're saying the card is OEM and would be supported by HP. However, I can't find any drivers for my particular card on the HP site. Any help?

I'm experiencing the same problem as Luke. I tried the link provided by dmhoo29 and received the following error message after downloading the driver and attempting to run it:

"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this setup program. Setup will exit."

My m8010y pc was built by HP with the (as described by my HP invoice) "Sound Blaster Audigy X-Fi, 24-bit Xtreme Fidelity" sound card. I cannot find a sound card that exactly matches this description on the Creative Labs support site.

My PC is barely 2 years old. HP needs to step up to the plate and provide assistance with Windows 7 drivers for components it installs in its PC's.

I look forward to a solution. Thank you.
