I adjust the settings to:
Video Gain: Green -->120
Video Black Level: Green -->232
Although, now there's obviously a slight green hue in the black level
...and I have to perform this adjustment each time I switch on my machine.
Is there a fault in my settings, start up?
and can I return to normal somehow?

Time for a new monitor. If you can borrow one or have another one handy plug it in to your comp, if you have the same problem then it is your card. I had a screen do the exact same thing, gave up bought a new one.
