I installed 4 x 2GB Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G for 8GB (2GB PC2-5300 CL5 240-pin DIMM) and unfourtunatelly did not work.
I only installed 2 of them and worked fine. When I install the 4 of them the PC do not start up. Memories are OK (checked one by one). So I installed 2 GB (2 x 1GB) of the original one + 2 x 2GB of the new one and now I have 6GB and is working fine.
Any Idea how to solve it and put my 8GB? BIOS upgrade? I'm using windows 7, but the problem is the pc does not start up when the 8 GB are installed.

Alex, it appears from my review of the specs of your computer that you are running "Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Media Center" 32-bit. Therefore, the maximum possible memory is 4GB. This is why it operates with 2 x 2GB. Even then, however, the system will only recognize up to 3.5GB. You can check the BIOS to verify it.

The motherboard will allow for a maximum of 8GB, but with a 64-bit OS.

Say thanks with HP POINTS!

The Setup should recognize 8GB even if the OS dosen't. Youshould enter setup F10 at boot and make sure that it registers correctly there if it doesn't register correctly in setup then you may have some non compatible/defective memory. the max that windows will see if 3 to 3.5 GB because of the 32 bit OS
