Need some help. Every time I try to print something it comes out extremely faded with no black color at all. I thought it might be the expired cartriges that I had so I went and purchased new ones. Still having the same issue.

I tried a test and made a bunch of cells within an Excel document "black" then tried printing... The result was alternating rows of blue and purple. I printed about 20pgs and every once in a while there would be a spirt (very small glob) of black ink that was still wet.

What do I do to fix?

You probably need to replace the black printhead. Shown on link below.

I still need to try this but I found a HP Support Document saying that I should try cleaning the print head with a clean coffee filter or lint-free cloth.

I have read elsewhere that soaking the tip of the printhead in a saucer of hot water can help.

Nothing to loose trying that.

Hmmmm... If dry cleaning doesn't work I'll definately give it a try... can't hurt things any worse.

Thanks!!!
