I am very new at this. Just received an HP Deskjet 9800. Can I print without a computer? Also, where do you put the paper to print out. It only has 1 slot. Sorry, I know it sounds dumb but gotta start somewhere.

You will need a computer (with the proper driver loaded and the proper cable) to print from the printer. The manual is at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00458223/c00458223.pdf?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN look at the "Getting Stated" chapter as well as the "Printing and loading media" section.

You can actually print an internal self test without a computer to verify operation of the printer. See: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00284475&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
