I recently opened the plastic that my LaserJet ink cartridge was enclosed in. I did not remove the tape for use. Will the shelf life be affected or must I reseal the cartridge in plastic? And if so does anyone know what the real shelf life is of a printer cartridge?
Thanks a mil, Uncel Dewey

The reason I asked (this is all just semantics) is that there are a variety of tems used:
Laserjets use Print Cartridges, but they're really toner cartridges.
Deskjets also use Print Cartridges, but in this case, they're really ink cartridges.
Inkjets use ink cartridges.
I've even seen the terms mixed up on HP's site, so when you said laserjet, but then referred to it as an ink cartridge, I was confused (more than I normally am).
If it was actually an "ink cartridge" as opposed to a toner, you'd want to use it right away and especially not try to replace the sealing plastic.
Please ignore this post. I'm re-posting because I'm working with an HP tech to try to debug some log-in issues for the forums. I just need to post in business support so that I get only it's cookies.
