The phone keeps turning it self off, mostly when i put it in a pocket or sometimes when i pick it up or take it out of the powerdock in my car. At first i thought that I´v accidently pushed some button or that i had powersave on the wrong setting. Now I´m sure that theres a bad connection somehow that cuts the power when i press the batterycover.
Anyone had this problem, and if so, is there a "do it yourself" sollution or do i have to send it to HP and live in kaos for two weeks?

I've not had that problem on mine, but others have. What happens is that the battery is not properly held in place and breaks contact for a moment, shutting down the device.

For instructions on how to handle the battery and cover properly, follow the link in the hot topics box on this HP site:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SupportTaskIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=2512489&prodTypeId=215348&supportTaskId=12249

Usually your issue is caused by a slightly damaged battery door. Owners of the 6515a (from Cingular) recieved an extra battery cover direct from HP because many had problems. You might call HP suppport in your country and see if they will send you one.

Of course, you can also purchase a new cover from HP parts, but many people have found that simply inserting part of a business card or similar item in the battery compartment kept things snug enough, you might try that first.

Another possible solution may be found in the thread titled "IPAQ hw6515d random shut down " elsewhere in this forum. Good luck...

Hello,
I had the same problem for over 6 months. I tried everything they suggested here.
I got so fed up when HP could not or would not help.
I opened my phone up and checked everything inside. Found that tiny switch that the back cover turns on. The tiny switch is located next to the dime size speaker. Found that any little movement of the back cover can turn off that switch.
The way I fixed my phone was to make the switch stick in the closed position. This you can do by using tape or that clear clue for crafts, you know the kind that needs a heat gun.
This way the switch does not depend on the back cover. Just keep in mind that now the phone will stay on without the back cover.
Now I can use my phone without any worries.

** VERY IMPORTANT **
Make sure you do a full back up onto a SD Card before you do anything.
