I have a new Deskjet 1280 and everytime I print on acetate it's taking about 24 hours for the ink to dry - some colour slides have not dried at all. I am not using HP acetate - does this matter? I am selecting - transparency slides other on my paper selection. Any suggestions ?
Very frustrated -
thanks

Yes, it matters. Ordinary plastic film (acetate, polyester, etc.) does not allow ink penetration, which is part of the drying process. Inkjet transparencies have surface treatments that allow ink bonding and drying.
There are a few things to check - make sure you are using inkjet transparencies, those designed for laser use will not be suitable. The inkjet media is coated on one side - make sure you are printing on the correct side. The "rough" (coated) side should be fed into the printer face down.

thank you both for your replies, i will invest in the correct acetate as I think the stuff I was using was originaly bought for a laser printer which is obviously where I am going wrong !!
