Just wondering if it is OK to transport ink cartridges by airplane. HP says on their website that they shouldn't be transported at high altitudes when installed in a printer but what if they are in the unopened package? Does the cold temperatures and change in air pressure cause them to leak or be damaged? Thanks for the help.

It should not be any problem with unopened cartridges. The cold is not an issue, but depending on the printer model you may want to let them warm back up to room temperature before installing.
For opened cartridges the change in air pressure may cause the cartridges to leak or mix colors.
