Dear All,

I have problem to install either Win Vista or XP on my new CQ40. Does anyone have the idea because when i'm install winXP it come with blue screen and then i change to win Vista the completing installation start to hang. at my bios it show non vista os installed.
hope anyone can solve this matter a.s.a.p. t.q very much

You need to be for specific with your model number.
Find it at the bottom of your notebook.

for XP basically its sata drivers while in vista it should be no problem at all.

Install .Net Framework before others

Unzip to a folder.
From Device Manager,right click "Audio Device on High Def Bus",choose Update driver,

No to connect,

Install from a list or specific location,

Choose search for the best driver in these location, Browse to the extracted folder.

Next - up to finish and Reboot.

I've tried so many times but still ahcix64.sys prompted not found

Use Nlite to slipstream your SATA driver

Avoid using USB Floppy!
That would safe many of your time.

Yap,I'm using the nlite but all 3 links in the SATA drivers give me the same message ahcix64.sys not found

I inserted all files in RAID7xx folder
give me 2 driverd x64 and x86,

Maybe u can given a tips or in details,

Hi Aizal Shukor

Please do not mix between 64 bit & 32 bit drivers.

Driver for x64 meant for XP 64bit, while x86 is for XP 32 bit.

I'm sure you are using XP 32bit, select only x86 driver.

If i choose x86, ahcix64.sys not found
else (x64) ahcix64.sys is corrupted from all links above

Fuhh!!! i almost surrender on this
My times spend most on burning CD and try just to get SATA works

Anything related with the processer (AMD Turion X2 64)?

Hi Aizal Shukor,

Start from the beginning, your XP resource has been contaminated with 64bit driver.

1. Copy a fresh XP cd to your harddisk
2. Run Nlite and slipstream the amd sata (choose only x86 driver)
3. Burn your XP to CD

I had similar problem in begining i just reset the bios to default following which i was able to boot from cd and instal vista succusfully.
Vista should have all the required drivers.
Do simple and basic things first.

you need updates bios with version F11c.
You run file Flash but need plush acpower.

Hi Mr Rakhmad,

I already follow your instruction and successfull make win xp cd with SATA driver for AMD. But when i use that cd and complete all the installation. last when reboot and when splashscreen win xp appear it comes to blue screen again and reboot again, can u please help me?
