Hello, I am looking for compatible drivers for the Compaq Presario c501nr notebook. I did a fresh install of XP pro on it, and just like many others, I am having the same problem with missing drivers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Here is my suggestion. Use the XP drivers that are provided here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3337783&lang=en

You are also going to need chipset and video drivers, but you can get these at www.intel.com. You have the Intel 945 Mobile chipset. Go to this page:

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2300&lang=eng

Install the Intel chipset driver first, before any other drivers. Then click on the "additional downloads" link on the page linked above and you will find the video. Intel wireless can also be found there as well as Intel Pro ethernet. Why HP has not posted these I cannot say.

Try directions here. I have a C509nr and it helped a lot.
